CAST & CREW
FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE 1984
TIM SPANG
Owner, President
A real Mainer, Tim grew up in Kennebunkport at the family farm and motel/campground resort known as the Beachwood. From the age of 12, he worked for the company construction crew during the summer months and weekends. Upon graduating from Biddeford High School in 1983, Tim worked briefly for another local construction company. However, after working in the family businesses and on the farm since childhood, Tim was no stranger to hard work. And if he was going to work hard, he figured it might as well be for himself. Spang Builders was subsequently started in 1984.
Tim began his business as a jack-of-all-trades with a can-do attitude. He grew the business from odd jobs and small remodels to fine, custom home building and remodeling. Tim is proud that Spang Builders is now one of the most sought-after and well-respected construction companies in southern Maine, known for superb quality, unparalleled customer service, fiscal responsibility, and timely completion.
When Tim is not consulting with clients, office managers, sub-contractors and foremen, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Louise, and their two children, Jameson and Clayton, on their small farm or Down East camp. He enjoys dirt biking and snow-mobiling with Clayton as often as possible, nurturing his young-at-heart attitude! Tim and Louise became grandparents in January 2020 and their grandson, Parsons, is a source of daily joy. He's already getting his feet wet visiting sites and a regular in the office. His little brother, Shepley, joined the crew in September 2023!...the third generation!
NORM LALIBERTE
Lead Estimator and Head of Project Management
Norm is also a native Mainer, growing up in nearby Biddeford where he continues to reside with his four children. Norm graduated from Biddeford High School in 1989 and attended Southern Maine Technical College. While attending college, he also worked for a reputable builder in the Biddeford area gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
After graduating from college in 1991, Norm came to work for Spang Builders where he has worked his way up through the ranks from helper, to carpenter, to field foreman, to project manager to his current position of Lead Estimator and Head of Project Management. His soup-to-nuts knowledge of the building process has made him an indispensable member of Spang Builders. Norm now manages the project management department and completes all estimates that come through Spang, communicating with the customers and subcontractors throughout the process. Because of his longtime employment with Spang Builders, Norm is an invaluable member of our team.
When Norm is not busy at work, his interests include "anything that involves his kids." He cites the birth of his children as the most amazing moments of his life. He also enjoys fishing, golf, hunting, hiking and any off road ATV-ing.
CLAYTON SPANG
Head of Excavation / Project Manager
Clayton is the second generation addition to the Spang Builders team. Since he was a teenager, Clayton has worked in many different areas of Spang Builders from clean-up and demo to carpentry and excavation. At the age of 19, he began as assistant project manager working closely with senior project manager, Norm Laliberte. He was full-time project manager until the Spring of 2024 when he took over the Excavation Department from Tim Spang.
Clayton's responsibilities include managing the daily and weekly communications and schedules between the various sub-contractors and vendors and the on-going communication with the customers. He is now responsible for the daily management and tracking of the entire excavation department, learning the ropes from Tim. He is an active participant in managing job-sites with the on-site foremen. Additionally, Clayton is an active and trusted participant in all on-site and office client, sub-contractor and vendor meetings.
In his free time, Clayton loves to nurture the family entrepreneurial spirit with his own side venture. He also just finished building his own house! In the winter, he loves to snowmobile and ice fish.

As a teenager, he started working with wood, building wooden lobster traps and wooden packing crates for lobster and tuna. In 1975, his father, who was a union carpenter, helped him acquire his first job in construction. That was forty years ago and Tim still loves working in the construction field. Tim commented, "I love my job! My job with Spang Builders has been the most rewarding…it has allowed me to grow even more than I thought possible!"
Tim's hobbies include working on his house, camping, motorcycling, traveling to new places with his wife and generally just being outdoors.
DAN HUFF
Working Foreman
Dan has been a great addition to the Spang Builders team. His attention to detail, ability to multi task, and easy personality are invaluable to the success of each job site he manages.
Like so many carpenters, Dan's love for carpentry and wood working was first ignited by a family member. In his case, an admired uncle took Dan under his wing during summer vacation at age 13.
After graduating high school, Dan pursued a career as a pipe fitter in NH. But after being laid off because of the seasonal nature of that industry, Dan picked up a job with a friend who owned a small construction firm. For 12 years he continued to learn and fine-tune his craft before coming to Spang Builders.
Like many natives, Dan enjoys recreating in the Maine woods, fishing, hunting, atv riding and camping with his wife and high school sweetheart, Katie. He especially enjoys barbecuing. Dan also loves to build small pieces of furniture and do small woodworking projects.

JAMESON SPANG DAVIS
General Manager
Jameson is a second generation addition to the family business. Jamie grew up in Kennebunkport and has always been surrounded by the construction world. She grew up going to job sites and meeting clients with her father, Tim. So as they say. “It’s in her blood!”
Jamie attended Kennebunk High School where she excelled at academics and athletics. She was a National Honor Student, a three year varsity soccer player and a four year varsity lacrosse player earning All-American Honors. While Jamie matriculated at Bowdoin College, she transferred to Babson College to pursue a degree in finance and entrepreneurship knowing that someday she may want to become part of the family business. At Babson, she continued her lacrosse career; she was a four year starter, Conference Rookie of the Year, two year Most Valuable Player, four year All Conference Player, two year All-Region Player and she was selected to play on the Division Three Senior North-South All-Star game. Needless to say, she understands the immense value of team work!
After graduation, Jamie worked in corporate banking for 2 years, but decided that she wasn’t ready to hang up lacrosse stick quite yet. She became the assistant coach for the Women’s Lacrosse team at Wheaton College and then at Bates College. While Jamie still loved the game of lacrosse, she was ready to settle into a steady career and it was a natural progression for her to join the family business.
She brings a wealth of construction experience, determination and a solid educational background to her management position on the Hazelwood Handyman and Spang Builders teams. In her spare time, Jamie loves to spend time with her husband on the family farm, play with her dogs, watch sports, and read historical novels. Jamie and Kevin welcomed a son, Parsons, in January 2020. They added to their little family with another son, Shepley, in September 2023! They are the light of their life…with another one on the way!
